Jai Jinendra Members

We are pleased to announce the date of swami vatsalya for this year, it is on 10/9/2017 @ Macedonian Community Hall

RSVP link was sent via email and it will be open till 6/9/2017. please RSVP at the earliest so our catering team can start planning accordingly.

We request for Volunteers to be present at the Macedonian Community Centre by 8 am on Sunday to assist with Catering. Our Swami Vatsalya lunches require quite a bit of assistance, so if you can all ensure that if you are attending, at least one family member per family attending takes the opportunity to provide seva to the community, that will be appreciated.

This is a great opportunity to serve the community that serves you, so please join the rest of the team in helping out.

Sadharmik Vatsalaya & Foodbank WA
All those who meditate on and remember the Navkar Mantra; and who have devotion and reverence for Shraman Bhagwan Mahavir gather at a place and dine together and feed one another. This celebration is called Sadharmik Vatsalya. On this day, worship of the Lord and other devotional activities are organized, These community dinners are controlled by the code of Jain customs and practices. It is called Swami Vatsalya or Navkarshi in the spoken language.

In all the Jain festivals, prayers are offered for the peace, felicity and prosperity (spiritual) of oneself, of society, nation and the whole universe. The following activities are given special importance: giving charity to the poor and the needy; rendering help; giving fodder and water to animals; giving grain to birds; giving free medicines to the sick and the disabled patients because in the Jain Dharma, benevolence is given the first place.

Based on the above ideology we are planning to donate food to homeless groups along with sadarmik bhakti which we do every year (donations as per one's willingness). Members are not obliged to do the donations and it is completely your choice. If you are interested, you can bring pre packed (not cooked) food such as a tin of baked beans, sweet corn, a packet of spaghetti or pasta etc, then we will collect these at the Swami Vatsalya lunch and donate it on your behalf under the Jain Community Banner to a charity who can then donate it to homeless people.

Please keep in mind that these foods need to adhere to Jain philosophy (so vegetarian, nothing that grows underground and no onion or garlic). It needs to have a long shelf life in case it is not consumed immediately.

On 10/9/17 Sunday we have the swami vatsalya lunch. With the community support last year we were able to donate 535 kg of food to the food bank. This year our committee have decide to donate food for such a great noble cause.
